Devonia Sheepsking and Tannery.

Devonia is Britain's oldest established sheepskin tannery and still employs traditional processing techniques.

Locally sourced Lambskins are tanned to produce luxurious longwool sheepskin rugs for individual floor coverings and some of these are manufactured into other sheepskin products. Also lambskins with distinct characterics are sourced from overseas and made into rugs and shearlings to meet the spectific high end requirements of automotive, aviation and clothing manufactures and homewear customers.

Devonia sheepskins have been produced in the small town of Buckfastleigh on the edge of Dartmoor, in Devon, for some 200 years.

The combination of traditional processing techniques handed down over the years to the current highly skilled craftsmen and the use of the local lambskins makes the Devonia longwool sheepskin rug a unique and sought after product.

The small size of the company creates a friendly atmosphere amongst the employees which is present in dealings with customers and general enquiries.

The Company offers a contract dressing service enabling the individual to have their own sheepskins (or other similar sized skins) tanned to the normal Devonia standard.
